Interest groups and story telling
0
First of all thanks to all those that have attended the interest groups so far this year. The new evening slot is working out very nicely. We have had time to catch up on local developments across Staffordshire as well as national developments.
The beauty of having these social gatherings as part of the Community of Practice is that we get to share stories with a Solution Focused twist, as opposed to talking about when things go wrong and digging into the reasons why. We get to look at creative ways in which the approach is being used in many different settings as well as discussing ways of integrating the approach into daily practice.
We have had a number of people attending the group who are new to the SF ways of practice and we are delighted that they feel comfortable enough to sit, listen and join in with the conversations. Hopefully this will be an indicator for others that Solution Focused practitioners are a friendly, optimistic bunch however with their feet firmly on the ground.
Already over the last few months we have begun to strengthen connections between services across Staffordshire and this is a strong indicator of the Community building aspect of the Interest group.
So, here we are preparing for a UKASFP conference at Keele which again will charge our National enthusiasm for the respectfully, resource eliciting approach and strengthen our national SF Community of Practice.
