The SFA blog has it's days numbered

1

After a good run for a few years the solutionfocusedapproaches.co.uk website will soon be relegated to a static website showcasing a few relevant links only. We have ran a SFA blog for 4 years now and it has served a purpose of getting information out there.

We have now moved with the times and have set up a 'being solution focused' facebook group, here we hope to share what it is like to BE solution focused, not exactly HOW to practice it. The aim is to encourage people to share images, videos, comments, thoughts, metaphors anything goes! We will post ideas and invites to conversations through this facebook group too.

We'll see you over there soon then? Good, you know it makes sense!

This current blog will be revamped into a "we have moved" sign in the next few weeks!

SFA wiki

0

Hello folks, I thought I'd update you on the success of the UK map of SF practices, the map has had 21, 212 views in the last 9 months.

The next project I hope we can all contribute to is developing a Solution Focused Approaches wikipedia page. The plan behind this project is to enhance the amount of information on the net in relation to solution focused practice. There is already wiki information on SFBT and various forms of brief therapy however there's a serious lack of info about SFA.

I believe we need to contribute to this wiki as it is our 'shift' and that there have been and will be many people searching for information on sf practice outside of the therapy field.

If you are interested please contact me (plant.carl@gmail.com) and we can develop the page in a sandbox before making it live.

Social media and the future of Staffordshire SFA

1

The past few blog posts here have mentioned plans to develop the SFA Community beyond the monthly meeting. Sure we enjoy having a cuppa and bouncing ideas around and there's always that flurry of emails following and the odd blog post here, but is that enough, is that reaching the people who have an interest in the practice of SF? The answer is a definitive no.

Okay so we have decided to take the monthly meetings on the road, sampling the finest quality of roast coffee and selected teas from around the county but that still only reaches those lucky enough to have the time to get out.

So we (the luckier ones) have decided to make the most out of social networking to engage in those inspirational conversations. A number of us already use the likes of facebook, twitter, flickr etc and have begun to form networks. It seems that to be with it you have to be in it!

Luckily, within the SFA Community we have a number of friendly geeks who are willing to support people through the maze of choices on the web and therefore we encourage people to consider making use of these sites if they have hopes of connecting up with like minded people.

The future of the Staffordshire SFA Community will involve social media and networking and this website/blog will eventually transform into an area for discussion, collecting information, sharing profile information, images, videos as well as live event reports.

The quiet revolution gets webified....
