0

We have now released more details of the 12th June conference, you can find them here.

Spring clean

0

As you can tell the SFA blog has had a spring clean and new look. There were some issues with the site that meant it did not work well with some browsers, this has been addressed and fixed, apologies for that.

We hope to have a number of bloggers adding content on a regular basis however we would love contributions and comments from you.

So there we have it, the new look blog, 10 years younger...

Bye for now

NEWS: web site revitalised, IG, refugee training.

0

Hi Team,

The Staffordshire SFP web site was winding down (slow, stale not very razzmatazz we thought). There are, however, about 300 visits per month and it seems a shame to lose this contact with so many people (assuming it isn't 2 people visiting 150 each!).
Carl will be working on a makeover and initial ideas include;

stronger links to the SFP interest groups including video,
stronger links to the (inter)national communities so that people can keep up to date and, most importantly, any ideas put forward by you.

Any ideas on how to develop an even more useful and engaging website would be appreciated. Please hit the 'reply to all' button so that we can get a conversation going.

The next IG is next Wednesday 22nd April and I've been a bit slow in sorting a venue. As a result we will be back at Harplands and the tea & biscuits will be as god as ever. Would a case based conversation be useful? If so let me know and I'll get it organised. If you're intending to call in please let me know so that catering will be sufficient.

Following the success of the presentation by Sarah Wilshaw and some bloke at the DoH conference in York we are going to arrange a 2 day training course on SFP with refugees. Probable date is mid to late July 2009. There will be a limited number of places at a reasonable fee and more details will be sent out soon. Any ideas on this please get in touch.

All the best,

Steve

Social media channels open for solution focused ideas

0

It's great to see the work of bloggers and sf community developers such as Coert Visser and Mark McKergow making great use of social media to share ideas about solution focused practice.

I've been scouting the social networks and see that there is so much room for sharing the solution focused love. It strikes me as ironic that at the heart of solution focused work is true collaboration, conversation and creativity and yet this has not reached the new social internet which is now built on collaboration and conversation!

So, this is a call to all solution focused fans, bloggers, social networkers, community developers, open source developers and social entrepreneurs, let's build on the new web community and share the love!

UKASFP conference update

0

We are very excited about the forthcoming solution focused conference at Keele University Staffordshire, June 12th 2009. This will be the 6th National Conference of the UK Association for solution focused practice (UKASFP). The overiding theme for this years conference is developing more solution focused ways of enagement with individuals and communities, focusing more on the hopes of the community and discovering resources sometimes overlooked in traditional hierachial approaches.

The event has been based very much on the conversations we have had over the years with community leaders, Health and Social care practitioners, those involved in organisation development, artists and people who use public and private services. The conference will host a range of conversations in a world cafe style approach, giving as much opportunity for people to share passions and generate new ideas. We aim to capture people's ideas about developing a more solution focused approach to developing services

We are pleased to announce that we have a social reporting team at the conference gathering video, photos and comments as well as a live blog, we are also using the twitter hashtag #ukasfp09 for the event.

Keele university is a fantastic venue, both in it's UK central location and also because we have booked the grand ballroom; the food is guaranteed to be fantastic!

The tickets for the event are on sale now at £50 UKASFP members, £80 non-members, however unfortuantely we have limited places so as you can guess time is important when booking. Bookings can be made via our paypal link on the ukasfp.co.uk site.
